We listen, act, and transform
Welcome! My name is Megan. I earned my bachelor's degree in 2010 from the University of Vermont and my master's degree in 2013 from Vermont State University - Johnson Campus. I am licensed in VT and MA.
I utilize a variety of techniques in therapy, trying to find what will work best for you. Person-centered, Person-focused. These techniques are likely to include dialogue, cognitive reframing, awareness exercises, visualization, journal keeping, drawing, and reading books. Ultimately, I am here to help you work through what is happening and achieve your identified goals.
My areas of specialized training and expertise include working with individuals with addictions (sex, substances, gambling, etc), grief and loss, and peri/post natal issues. I also work with individuals who identify within the LGBTQ+ space.
Approaching feelings or thoughts that you have tried not to think about may be painful. Making changes in your beliefs or behaviors can be scary and sometimes disruptive to the relationships you already have. It's important to consider carefully whether these risks are worth the benefits to you of changing. Most people who take these risks find it beneficial.
